ASL Global, the leading Promotional and Marketing Services business, today announced the appointment of Steve Ueckermann as Managing Director, with Founder Alec Pettigrew taking up the role of Chairman.
Steve was educated in South Africa, gaining an Economics degree and a MBA from the University of Stellenbosch. After an initial 8-year period in the food and beverage packaging sector in South Africa, Steve moved to the UK where he commenced his career in the Marketing Services Outsourcing Sector. After a six-year stint with Williams Lea Tag, he joined Adare International as Managing Director. Over the next 13 years, he led the transition and five-fold growth of the UK print management business to create a leading global Marketing Services Outsourcing organisation operating in 40 countries.
Steve has joined ASL Global as Managing Director, to drive the strategy and to lead the next stage of significant growth. ASL Global is at the forefront of the transformation of the Promotional Industry, and through the expansion of its proposition, global reach, technology platforms and talent pool, ASL Global aims to be the partner of choice to blue-chip clients in its chosen sectors.

He adds “Over the last few months, we have been successful in landing a number transformational contract wins and this is testament to the attractiveness of our offering to our major global clients – it also illustrates the significant growth potential of the business aligned to how large global clients are changing the way they source marketing related products and services. Adding to an already formidable team, we will be announcing several key appointments over the coming weeks and will also be making further strategic investments as we continue to develop ASL Global as a market leader.”
Alec adds “Having founded ASL Global in 2005 and built a great team and a large, financially secure business, we undertook a strategic review of the organisation last year as part of the process of planning for the next period of its development. Given Steve’s deep knowledge and hands on experience of building and growing businesses in the marketing services sector, Steve was the natural choice to take on the reins of continuing to build ASL Global into a Promotions & Marketing Services powerhouse.
